Tristan in an alternative folk duo based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Andrie Ridwan (singer, songwriter) and Andrew Hutasoit (multi instrumetalist, composer) release their first studio album April this year, an 11 tracks of life and love story along with a modest folksy music that I guaranteed will be easy and enjoyable for your ears. This debut album titled Home, contain 10 English tracks and a single track titled Jelang Malam written in Bahasa.
Jelang Malam itself already locally known, the song sitting on top of the chart in an indie radio show at their hometown Jakarta. Some good words from a national music magazine followed with cheering welcome from several music bloggers took them into releasing Home, and it turns out pretty well.
I put Songbird, their first single from the album, at the end of the post so you can listen for their music. Elliott Smith seems pretty inspiring, also you’ll find some Jon Brion all over the album as their told me. The video above is a music video taken from Tristan’s second single titled Maybe Someday, a song about winning somebody’s heart by let her finding herself. Philoshopic lyric such as “your past what makes you here” and “you’re such a strangled lullaby” well visualized, property of Fazrie Permana the director.
Their debut album Home available now at Demajors for online purchasing. Get to know more about Tristan, visit their blog, Twitter, and their Facebook page.
