Buke is a bariton ukulele, and Gase (Gass) is a guitar and bass hybrid. Buke & Gase (former Buke & Gass) is a Brooklyn based duo, they got their name from instruments they playing. Buke & Gase basically playing indie rock, an attractive music hype from 2000-ish. Their first release +/- gather good reviews, good enough to attract a record company known as “the centre of New York’s other music scene”, Brassland Records.
Buke & Gase are Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez, started playing together in earnest late 2007. Their latest album is Riposte. Riposte released on 2010, two years after their debut. I was expecting their third records in this early 2012, but never heard the good news.
Compared to their debut, Riposte sounds a little smoother. I recommend you Riposte since it’ll be easier for our ears. +/- in the other hand represent their “rock” side, more experimental, and will suits your needs for a loud yet unique music experiences. The fact that Dyer playing her buke with some homemade effects boxes and Sanchez with his homemade gass will suprise you. You will also find some tambourines in +/- that will fancy your ears. Below are their two releases, enjoy.
